Day 27 of 127 (countdown to 1/17/10)

I did it, so did a lot of others today... we ran 11 miles in our quest to prepare for the full marathon on 1/17/10! This is almost the distance that I ran for the 1/2 marathon (13.2 miles) for the past 2 years... but, running 11 miles this early in to training make me feel like I am really going to be prepared for January's Big Day. No stopping today either... just at the halfway mark to gave a drink of Gatorade, otherwise it was 1 hr and 45 minutes of fun : )
lol, ha-ha: but, seriously it is really fun to get out there early in the day and meet new people, run off the stress of the week, feel the chi flowing through you and feel (at the end) that you have really accomplished something.
Now, my house is still messy ... but, I did run 11 miles.
Because I talked so much on the run today, I don't even have a today's tune.
That goes to show you how much fun I was really having, typically I need my music to get me through my runs. I ran 22.5 miles this week and now I have a couple of days off! YEA - I need it. My legs are a bit heavy tonight and I should have taken a rest or nap today, but I didn't.

How are your training runs coming along? They are not all suppose to be easy, but you never regret it when you are done, although sometimes you wonder... why am I doing this again?

Have a great Sunday and until next time - Kelly

  1. Kelly, it's Sunday 10/11. My 2.25 mile run was supposed to happen yesterday, but because of my HS reunion, I ran this morning and made it 2.25. On Tuesday already I'll run 2.5, hopefully. I decided not to be too hard on myself if I stop for a short, very short walk and then pick up the run again. Hopefully by Sat. I'll run 2.5 w/o stopping. I have days where my attitude is, 2 miles is good enough. Today showed me to continue with the program and keep the goal of 3. I've been told by 2 different people that once you've made 2, it gets easier, so I'm hoping this week will be a good one. You have a great attitude Kelly and I know it's not that easy for you everyday, so keep it up, I've read every blog and I'm so proud of you. Barbie
