Ok... I didn't post yesterday, but I did run my 3 "easy" miles.
Easy?NOT... It was not my best day, nor my best run. I had that run over my head all day since I did not get out early. When I got out of work at 5:15pm and had to stop at the post office (now 5:30pm) and then home at 5:55pm. Ran in to the house, like a bat out of hell, changed into running gear and then out the door around 6:10pm. It was a beautiful temperature outside and the sky was a beautiful pink, blue and grey. I noticed that the first 10 minutes felt "hard" and the next 10 were still... hard. It was almost dark at this point and I was running on dirt roads that have washes through them, so I maneuvered carefully and was soon home.
whew... At least I didn't miss the run.
Today's run was 6 miles and it was much better than last nights run.
It was a bit warm at 10:45 am, the sun was shining and I took off on my dirt road.
I decided to take a different route and the change in view, was great. I saw some new horses, a few new houses, saw some Halloween decorations, saw some dogs... it was great.
I got home an hour later and had the run behind me... that always makes the rest of the day feel like you have already accomplished something BIG.
Tomorrow it is 3 miles and then a day off in preparation for Saturday's 12 mile, morning canal run.
Today's Tune is a bit slow to start, but a few minutes in you will hear how and why I think this is a great, motivating marathon song to run to.... I will put this Kelly Clarkson tune on my marathon play list and remember to listen to it when I am really having a hard time, especially at mile 22! : )
is it over yet,
can I open my eyes,
is this as hard as it gets,
is this what it feels like to really cry?
cry
CRY
until next time - Kelly
