Day 42 of 127 (Countdown to 1/17/10)

How I enjoyed my last run in California (on Thursday) and I wish I could say the same about today's run. I enjoyed the cool California temperatures at the end of last week and, because I did not get out early enough this morning for today's training run... I suffered out there.
Thank goodness that this week is a scheduled "set back" in mileage... so, only 9 miles was scheduled for the Novice 2 program. I took off at 11 a.m... under full sun. I always carry 16 oz of water on me, and today I took an additional 14 oz. that I placed under a tree about 1.25 miles out so that when i was on my return trip, I would be able to be refreshed for the last mile.
Actually, the run itself was not that bad, if it were not for the heat and sun. I enjoyed an occasional cool breeze, the great mountain views and of course some great tunes.

I am moving into week 12 of my 23 week training program, one third of the way done!
This next week will have a step-up in training as my Tue/Thu 3 mile runs will both be 4 miles and my longer Wednesday run will be 7 miles (instead of 6). And the Saturday run will increase to 14 miles this week. Wow... training is moving right along.

How is your training coming along? Congratulations to Barb who has met her recent running goal!

Today's tune is fun, energetic and has a great beat. Fallout Boy's "This ain't a scene, It's an Arms race". Enjoy... it is really fun.

Until next time - Kelly
